From it's inception the mission of the Southwest Civic Association has been three-fold. First To preserve the quality of our neighborhood. Second to keep the community informed of the issues that impact us, and third to be an advocate for the community's position on those issues, with both the local and state governments as well as the police department.
To this end our civic associations' efforts on the behalf of southwest residents is, but not limited to:
Monitoring the condition of the street lights, trees, trash, traffic, as well as crime, and reporting all problems to our city officials.
Monitoring development, plans for development, and renovations within our boundaries, to keep everyone apprised of projects that will affect us.
Working with the 7th District Neighborhood Planning Council to submit proposals so we can petition for Federal Grant Monies to make improvements to the safety and appearance of our streets.
Together we, as a community, can make a difference.
